“Acts of bigotry, oppression and intimidation were daily experiences for Hispanics who attended Texas A&I University in the 1960s and 1970s, said school alumni at the A&I Chicano Activist Colloquium Wednesday.
Texas A&I University, which became Texas A&M UniversityKingsville in 1993, was considered the hotbed of the Mexican-American civil rights movement 30 years ago, said Carlos Guerra, a San Antonio Express-News columnist.”
