“A judge granted visitation rights, but not full custody to an immigrant Mexican mother who had once been ordered to learn English or risk losing her child.

Wilson County Circuit Court Judge Clara Byrd gave legal custody of 11-year-old Linda Cano to her father Antonio Cano and allowed Felipa Barrera supervised visits with her daughter at a court hearing Monday.”
