Knowledge is Power!

As usual Latina Lista is one good blogger

“During this time, when as a nation we celebrate everything Hispanic, it’s not unusual for us (and I’m using the collective “nosotras” or “we”) to get impatient when non-Latinos think if you’re Latina you automatically eat tortillas, dance the Mexican Hat Dance or grew up listening to ranchera music.

The bottom line is we know we’re Latinas, but we also know that not all of us can trace our families back to Mexico. Some of us came from Cuba, Spain, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Peru, etc. where the customs, music and even the way we hablamos español are very different.”

Please notes some (many) sites require registration. Many times it is free.
