Mexican Restaurants: Rita to Cost $1M
Mexican Restaurants Inc., operator of Casa Ole and other casual dining chains, on Tuesday estimated closures and damage caused by Hurricane Rita will cost the company $1 million in lost revenue in the third quarter.
Thirteen restaurants in the Beaumont, Texas, and Lake Charles, La., areas suffered varying degrees of damage, and all but one remain closed — amounting to about $600,000 in missed sales, the company said. It expects to reopen five of those restaurants by the Oct. 16.
