Newsletter readers - Don't forget HispanicTIPS - Gracias, Tomás

I am working hard to make the site more useful. Here is what I am up to:

  • Working a redesign: 3 column all css that works mas o menos in IE, Safari and Firefox, so far so good. Anyone experiencing problems let me know, please.
  • Added a quick list view to main page if you just want to view the headlines (much easier to scan but not nearly as much information). You can see the link at the beginning of the posts.
  • Starting today I will be posting a daily roundup to be posted when I am done for the day. This is will just be the quick list view in a single post.
  • Also added ‘daily roundup’ category. This category should be a nice way to view a summary of daily posts
  • I added the category ’site notes’ for posts like this one
  • I am in the process of creating a mailing list so I can send out the daily roundup via e-mail. So if you are interested in receiving this please keep your eyes open as I should be ready pretty soon.
  • Improved the category and date archives using the quick list look

And I just noticed I made it to 3500 posts!

Guitarist Ry Cooder helped usher in a wave of nostalgia for old-school Afro-Cuban music as one of the principal motivators behind the Buena Vista Social Club in the late '90s. But political realities have made it difficult to return to Havana, so with his new CD, "Chávez Ravine" (Nonesuch), he focuses on his native Los Angeles to explore a different Latin music legacy.
