In 1927, Mexican immigration encouraged for state’s economy
The headline said, “Mexican Quota Law Attacked,” and the story that followed was filled with nothing but irony from today’s perspective.
The article, in the Oct. 7, 1927, edition of the Pomona Progress-Bulletin, described a Los Angeles meeting of business leaders, including Pomona’s Chamber of Commerce secretary J.M. Paige.
