A Hispanic church grows in Jamesburg, New Jersey
JAMESBURG ”” When Maritza Batista moved with her husband, Pedro, to Monroe from Passaic five years ago, she never imagined that the two of them would one day be ordained as ministers and found the area’s first (and so far, only) Hispanic church.
“I didn’t want to move,” she recalled Friday. “And when we come here at first I was by myself all the time in that big house on Buckelew Avenue and I used to fight with God every day and to scream at him and ask him, ‘why did you bring me here?’
