Music connects senior to Puerto-Rican heritage

It’s called a Parranda. A traveling party similar to Christmas caroling, Joel Morales said parrandas are common from December to Three Kings Day where his grandparents live in Puerto Rico.

A senior in electrical and computer engineering, Morales said the parrandas begin as one or two families going door to door singing and playing instruments and becomes somewhat of a block party as the night progresses.
