MTV award-winning director Sergio Arau and acclaimed actress Yareli Arizmendi will be featured Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the University Lecture Series at California State University, .

Arau and Arizmendi will speak on “Making the Invisible Visible: The Task of the Artist” at 7:30 p.m. in the Satellite Union, 5280 N. Jackson Ave.

Arau and Arizmendi are a husband and wife duo and co-creators of “A Day Without a Mexican,” a politically charged masterpiece of wit, irreverence and social commentary. It not only illustrates the impact of Mexican and Mexican-Americans on California’s economy, but highlights the growing cultural presence and power of Latinos in America. Arau’s and Arizmendi’s multimedia lecture event explores topical news items with a Latino point of view. Their commentary dissects what it means to be Latino in post-9/11 America.
