Iowa lawmakers to hear immigrants’ concerns

Immigrants, refugees and migrant workers in Iowa will get to share their stories and concerns about education, health care, jobs and other issues with a committee of Iowa legislators during a series of meetings that begin Monday in Des Moines.

Alex Orozco , who immigrated to Iowa from Mexico City in 1999, is glad to hear it. He plans to tell the committee that Iowa must do more to protect immigrants, including undocumented immigrants, from crimes.
