Growing Hispanic population helps La Reina Supermarket’s owner thrive: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

Arango, 49, this month unveiled the expanded La Reina, now a 30,000-square-foot supermarket that boasts a 3,000-square-foot meat department. La Reina, which Saturday celebrated the grand opening of the expanded store, about three blocks from the original store, has created 70 jobs in the area, bringing Arango’s work force to 110.

Arango’ssuccess has come from a growing Hispanic population demanding to find their familiar, native products in their local supermarket.
