Fox Sports en Español announced today it will offer exclusive live broadcasts of two historic Copa Nissan Sudamericana matches this week. Marking the first-ever appearance of teams from Mexico in the prestigious tournament, Los Pumas de la UNAM will face off against Bolivia’s The Strongest, Tuesday, September 20, starting at 6:30 PM PT/9:30 ET. On Wednesday, September 21, Club América will take on Colombia’s Atlético Nacional, starting at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 ET.
“The Copa Nissan Sudamericana is one of the soccer world’s premier international club tournaments,” said David Sternberg, executive vice president and general manager of Fox Sports en Español. “We anticipate that the addition of Pumas and Club América to the field will score big among our viewers and further bolster the popularity of the Copa Nissan Sudamericana, particularly among Mexican soccer fans, who make up the majority of the U.S. Spanish-language television viewing audience. We’re excited to be the only network in the nation to offer live action from this prestigious tournament.”
