Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean issued the following statement in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which begins today, September 15, 2005:
“I’m honored to join millions of Americans all across our nation in commemorating Hispanic Heritage Month. The heritage of the Hispanic community can be seen every single day in the hard work, deep faith and close-knit families of America’s largest minority group. In everything from government to science, agriculture to entertainment, the Hispanic community has made and continues to make an immeasurable contribution to strengthening our American community.
