Guiterrez sees Hispanic firms as part of Gulf Coast relief effort

The nation’s Hispanic-owned businesses are critical to the rebuilding of the Gulf Coast areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina, U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Guiterrez said Friday in Milwaukee.

“The recovery from Hurricane Katrina requires a strong response from business,” Guiterrez told about 1,000 people at the International Breakfast during the annual convention of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at the Midwest Airlines Center. “I hope to see Hispanic businesses at the forefront of this effort.
