Nextel makes Juarez connection. Border service, flawless coverage touted

In El Paso and Juárez, some business cards list two cellular numbers, one American and the other Mexican, and the sight of two phones clipped onto one belt is not unusual.

Despite some promising technological developments and communications agreements between the United States and Mexico a few years ago, cross-border phone coverage is still spotty. Locals still count on “bleed-over” coverage — coverage that creeps into Juárez, but fades out as one goes south.
