Knowledge is Power!
Latinos are on the verge of becoming the majority in Seward County, underscoring the solid Hispanic growth characteristic of southwest Kansas since the 1990s, according to recently released U.S. Census Bureau estimates for 2004.
More broadly, the Hispanic population grew in 13 of 14 southwest Kansas counties versus 2003, countering declines in the Anglo population and motoring marginal overall growth to 141,079 people.
