Three new books examine the Hispanic or Latino experience in the United States. One, Anthony Quiroz’s “Claiming Citizenship,” looks at Victoria. Quiroz, assistant professor of history at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, follows the moderate, non-violent route to equality taken by local Mexican Americans.
