The Girl Scouts of Ocean County set up a six-week summer day camp in Lakewood to reach out to local Latina and African-American girls.

The Jersey Shore Council of the Boy Scouts of America recently received a grant from the OceanFirst Foundation to target the Latino community in Lakewood, where it plans to create a Cub Scouts pack and a Boy Scouts troop this fall.
