Bands leading celebrations for ‘Diez y Seis’

The big Mexican holiday, El Diez y Seis de Septiembre, is officially observed on Sept. 16, but the celebrations start this weekend.

Duelo, Liberación, Los Palominos and others kick off the annual Fiestas Patrias at noon Sunday at Rosedale Park. Among the groups scheduled to perform are La Fuerza, Los Tex-Maniacs, Solido, David Lee Garza, DJ Kane, Chon Arauza, Varonil, Lalo Mora and Chicos Del Barrio
