All-Spanish station offers new outlet for Latinos

By last count, 51 languages were spoken in the Norwich-New London area.

Two months ago, the languages spoken on the area’s radio stations rose to two.

It seems a small step, but, pardon the pun, it speaks volumes about where this region is and where it is heading when it comes to diversity and culture.

The Citadel-owned WSUB 980-AM, a talk-radio station, switched to MAGIA 980 in July, becoming the region’s first all-Spanish station. Magia is the Spanish word for “magic.”
