Knowledge is Power!
It’s a long haul from the Pilsen/Little Village neighborhood to the Gold Coast, and even longer when you’re toting broken promises, Latino families of Salazar Elementary Bilingual Center told the Chicago Board of Education this week.
That’s because the families thought they could take it to the bank when the board president promised them last month to continue busing for some 95 students ordered back from Near North Side Salazar to Pilsen/Little Village schools. Instead of restoring busing for the 95, CPS sent notice this month it was yanking service for 124 more.
