IXCUMANE, the “grandmother of corn,” invented maize (corn) before man was created. She also played a key role in our creation.

What did these folks do with the tortillas? Invented taquitos, of course! How old are taquitos? Well, the very first Americans of the Americas ”” even before Amerigo Vespucci christened this continent ”” over in Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City) were found munching on taquitos by Hernn Cortez and his soldiers. Those taquitos back then were made of small fish called “charales.” The Spaniards loved them!
