Knowledge is Power!

I had known for a few years there was a book in the works that talked about the migration of Mexicans to small midwestern towns such as Ligonier. But until a copy of “Apple Pie and Enchiladas: Latino Newcomers in the Rural Midwest” was loaned to me recently, I had no idea Ligonier would be prominently featured in the book.

“Apple Pie and Enchiladas: Latino Newcomers in the Rural Midwest,” (hereinafter to be called “Apple Pie,” or “the book”), is a scholarly yet very interesting look at the migration patterns of Latinos over the past 30 to 40 years. Its real emphasis, however, is on the last 10 or 15 years.
