Spanish story-times are underused opportunities

Spanish story-time for children hasn’t been a big draw in Newburgh, but a new store is giving it another try.

Newburgh Latinos care about their children’s bilingual education. They lobby for it and tend to continue to place their children in bilingual classes even after they’ve learned how to communicate efficiently in English. Spanish story-time not only helps them hone their bilingual skills, but also helps to instill an appreciation for reading at an early age.
