The 49-year-old nanny from Mexico participated in a pilot program called Dallas Office Rapid Adjustment, or DORA. The program aims to reduce the backlog of petitions for the permanent residence cards that allow immigrants to legally live and work in the United States by screening applications quickly and in person.
