Knowledge is Power!
When media giant Univision began researching Hispanic DVD sales last year, it discovered a market that seemed years behind the times. In the last eight years the DVD format had changed home entertainment, but only 1 percent of the more than 1 billion DVDs sold in 2004 were Spanish-language titles, Univision found.
“Even in areas that are Spanish-dominant, Latinos can see with their own eyes that the percentage of titles in Spanish is incredibly low,” says Univision Television Group President Michael Wortsman.
