Minority Students Become Majority in Local School System. Virginia

The school system says nearly 52 percent of students last year were ethnic minorities. That’s a big change from just four years ago, when 39 percent of students were nonwhite.

The Potomac News reports most of the shift comes from Hispanic students.

Thousands of Hispanic families have moved into the area, and as a result, the number of Hispanic students has rocketed 65 percent in the past four years.
