For the second consecutive year, Jose Roman Galindo and Estela Garcia Velazquez applied for and were awarded an opportunity to come to the United States and help teach in summer migrant programs. The program is sponsored under the auspices of the United States, Mexico and the state hosting the program.

The programs are basically designed to offer the children of migrant workers an opportunity to improve their language and social skills and learn some of the cultural aspects of Mexico. Some of the students are of Mexican birth, but most were born in the United States of America.
