Hispanic presence increasing, but outreach efforts are mostly unsuccessful

The Henderson-Vance Chamber of Commerce and Vance-Granville’s Small Business Center have noticed the rapid increase of Hispanic population of Vance County, which is predicted to nearly double over the next five years. The Hispanic population of Vance County, a mere 271 in 1990, totaled 3,484 at the end of 2004 and is expected to reach 6,223 in 2009.
